Those are the first two things anyone asks you on a call, and most homeowners have never measured either one, so the call starts with a shrug. The calculator above asks for the first and will work it out with you if you are not sure. Ten minutes in the attic is all it takes.
What no web page can settle on its own is the condition of what is up there. So the range you get here is a starting point, and Eco-Therma confirms it remotely from your address rather than a figure that closes the question.

- Nothing at all, if you would rather not. Answer “I do not know” on the size and we work it out remotely from your address.
- The rooms on the top floor. The attic floor is their footprint, so a tape measure downstairs gets you the surface without going up.
- The age of the house, roughly. It narrows the construction and the insulation likely used.
- A photo of the attic, if you happen to have one. Useful, never required.

Is the range I get here my final price?
No. The number here is a preliminary range built from the attic size, the insulation goal, and the services you selected. What the work finally involves is set by the condition of what is already up there, how the attic is reached, and how much of it is affected rather than all of it. Eco-Therma settles the remaining details remotely and confirms a quote from there.
I would rather not go up. Can I still use this?
Yes. Choose “I do not know” on the depth and Eco-Therma works it out remotely from the address and the age of the house. If you do happen to have a reading already, send it and the range gets tighter, but nothing here asks you to climb into an attic.
My readings are all different. Which one do I send?
Send them all, because the difference between them is the useful part. Coverage that varies from point to point is a finding on its own. Heat takes the easiest path, so the thin areas carry more of the loss than their share of the surface, and an average would hide exactly that.
What if I cannot get into the attic at all?
